Offers complete desktop power protection in an attractive gray tower configuration. Includes 3 battery-supported outlets for computer, monitor and one vital system peripheral, plus 3 additional surge suppression-only outlets for printers and other system accessories not requiring battery support. HID-compliant USB port enables optional unattended system shutdown without data loss in the case of extended power failure; USB cable included. Very Poor Communication

I've been using Tripp Lite products since the Windows 95 days and I have to report that there is very poor communication between the company and product users. There have been several occasions where I've sent email to technical support and received no reply. Of if you do get a reply, it's nonsensical.

However, my most recent purchase of the InternetOffice700 was disappointing. Apparently the unit has three names. The advert says "InternetOffice700", the end of the box says "BC8225", and the manual supplied says "BC Pro". It makes one wonder what these people are smoking.

Additionally, the back panel of the unit has two Ethernet RJ-45 protection jacks. They are described on page six as "Telephone/DSL/Ethernet Protection Jacks". A standard telephone connection is an RJ-11 and is not interchangeable with an Ethernet RJ-45 cable. But what I received in the box was an RJ-11 telephone cable. I called the telephone number supplied and requested they send me the correct cable but they refused. I told the Rep that I received the RJ-11 cord and could I please exchange it with the correct RJ-45 cable. The answer again was no. So now I have a useless RJ-11 that does not fit anything on the unit purchased.

Another oddity with this item --the six AC receptacles on the back are upside down with the ground pin at the top. This places the short slot on the left and long slot on the right. If you are using a cord with a 90 degree plug, the cord is routed up into the air rather than down toward the floor. All AC outlets in the US properly installed have the ground pin toward the floor.

Beyond that, Amazon will not let me return this item because it is classified as "Hazardous Material". I suppose they are referring to the lead acid battery.
