Good value
By M. Thomas
For the price this does everything expected and not only protects agianst power loss but protects from other power fluctions. This is also much more compact than an older unit that used a lead acid battery.

details not very accurate
By Shaun P. Michalak
I have owned many UPS's from many different manufacturers, and unless you get the thin small UPS's with self contained batteries, ones in the size of anywhere near 1000va usually have 2 batteries this size in it. This backup only has one. this is good and bad. This makes for a shorter run time when the power goes out, but good because it makes it smaller and lighter which makes it easier to move and handle if you need to do anything with it. Also makes it smaller so it takes up less space. If you need to replace the battery, it is an easy battery to replace. Remove 1 screw, slide door, remove battery, pull off tabs that connect battery, and then reverse to put back in. Common battery size. This is the same size and type of battery that my minuteman, APC, and other brands of backup use.. they are all the same battery type, just different brand names. they are usually seen as anywhere from a 7ah to a 9ah 12 volt battery.
The backup time can also be misleading. They say for 1 PC and 1 LCD monitor, but never say what kind. A 15" is going to use a lot less then a 23", and there is going to be a huge drain difference between a low end 100watt factory released PC and a higher end 400 watt one that may have extra fans, a decent video card that you added in, etc. They do not say what the wattage of the 2 (PC and monitor) are combined that they use for their times, so do not expect that you will get the time frame that they give for backup unless you have a low end factory released PC.
If you do need a long run time though, might be worth considering one with 2 batteries instead of one with 1 battery for backup power. So far, it seems like a decent system, but I am just disappointed in the fact that it only has 1 battery and the run time vs drain info is lacking. I have run this off of battery power to power a laptop (40 watts) for about 10 minutes (power kill test, did not fully drain), then let charge while using the laptop, and from that little time used, the top does get warm, so if you plan to use it, I would not put it in a confined space or it may get too hot.
This UPS has no fans that I know of, which is good because it makes the battery last longer (especially since it only has 1) upon power outages, but is also bad because there is no extra help to cool it down if it needs it. I have not had this much time yet so only time will tell how long it will last, but so far, it seems like a decently designed one.
Overall, my option about it, if you need something for slight fluctuations in power and power that only goes out for a maybe few seconds, then this one is fine. If you are looking for something that is going to run a while when the power goes out, then this is not the UPS for you. The one I got was from somewhere else and was used, but still works good, but since I just got it, I can not say yet as to the longevity of the device yet.

Okay for the price
By Suthringurl
The unit is a good vaule for the price I've only just gone the unit and so far seem to be working well. I have to live with it a little longer to really see how it working and I wish the management software was a little more user-friendly but over I'm happy with the purchase.
