Nice UPS

The battery backup seems to be of good quality.
However, the shutdown software wouldn't work on my computer. I called and worked with tech support. We troubleshot for a while and then was told my computer was the problem. Typical.

Fireworks

We have about 10 of these in our office for each of the desktops. It might be a life (Used for 3 years) thing but 2 of these randomly started smoking with sparks. I'm going to replace them for safety reasons, worked well up until now but these incidences have permanently nick-named these "firework boxes" which is not good. The worked well but they shouldn't end in a bang.

Runs a bit warm

This replaced a ADP UPS which had given up after many years. It seems to do the right thing in that it supplies power without interruption when there is a power glitch. The only thing I am surprised at is how warm it runs. This implies a constant power drain. It seems this is well in excess of the power needed just to keep the batteries charged.
We are not using the automatic shutdown feature so no comment can be made about that function.
