Worked great till it exploded

Worked great for a month and a half, caught a couple power cut outs, no real complaints. I guess I got a bum unit since something inside it exploded, sparks, smoke, etc. Killed my computer power supply, so now I am RMAing both of them. The RMA process seems straight forward enough but the thing is heavy so it will be expensive. When I get it back I am definitely putting a high quality surge protector between it and my computer though. I should note that the failure occurred under a quite low load compared to what I normally run.

Unit exploded upon self test

I just received this unit about 10 minutes ago, plugged everything in and ran the software as directed in the instructions, and went to run a self test. 5 seconds after starting the test, on the right side of the unit, there was an explosion, sparks, and the unit went dead. Thankfully, nothing was destroyed as a result of this faulty UPS.
I would avoid this brand.

good solid UPS - Can handle the load !!

Needed high capacity UPS for 10 amp dental porcelain furnace, for momentary fluctuations in local power. Had unit for 4 months. Carried the load for momentary power fluctuations under load perfectly. Worth every penny.
