It's a battery...

Yup, it's a battery. In my opinion, a battery has 2 goals. It works or it doesn't. It lasts or it doesn't. I bought this because it was a compatible replacement for the original issue battery that came in my Verizon Fios digital phone power interface box. If I loose AC power from my utility company, this little gem powers my phone service for some amount of hours. The original battery lasted for years but Verizon does not replace them when, not if, they go kaput. Even though the equipment belongs to them. I guess it's like the batteries in the remote philosophy. To be honest, I have no idea if this is a rechargeable battery or if the added up amount of time I am without power will eventually drain this battery too. There is no written word on the Verizon device that mentions a trickle charge to a supposed rechargeable battery so who's to say... not Verizon, they don't even know. BUT, the battery is doing great. The green light on the device that shows the battery is happily charged and waiting a power loss scenario is lit and all is well. Only time will tell :)
Oh, and I should mention the Verizon price was 3 times as expensive as this one which was, thank you Amazon, the lowest price.
